No parents who wouldn’t be that proud for a talented kid. The very time that they would display their potential talent, expect that parents would usually showcase them in every family gathering. With these simple activities, they are already enhancing their kid’s self esteem and confidence.
However, when these kids start to go to school, some parents opt to discourage them to pursue the musical career so that they could concentrate more on the academics. For a child who has this great musical passion, it would be very difficult for them to give it up.
These days, lucky for these kids because most of the schools have already incorporated some music-related activities like the glee club or the school’s orchestra or band wherein topics like reading notes, playing the instruments effectively knowing how to use cool amps are included. It may not be on the mainstream yet but it could somehow enhance their talent.
Aside from the academic grades, schools are also giving points to their student’s extracurricular activities thus giving it a percentage in order to make it to the honor roll.
As parents, all you have to do is to allow them to join such groups in exchange of having good grades. In that way, you won’t be suppressing their talent at the same time you would be able to give them inspiration to go to school more.
